Southeastern Equipment to offer KM road maintenance products
KM International has added Southeastern Equipment Co. to its dealer network to expand into northern Indiana.
Southeastern will sell and rent KM’s full line of road maintenance products, which include asphalt recyclers, hotbox reclaimers and crack sealers. The company’s infrared asphalt recyclers will also be carried by Southeastern.
New Deutz Service Center Chicago to serve parts of Ill., Ind.
Deutz Service Center Chicago is opening in Elgin, Illinois, to serve the northern and east central part of the state as well as Northern Indiana.
The new service center will provide regular maintenance and emergency service for Deutz engines, as well as provide Deutz parts and fluids. Technicians from the center will also travel to customers’ locations to perform service.

Prior to joining RBFS, Macaskill was president and managing director of CIT Canada; he also served as regional vice president, office technology, for De Lage Landen, and held leadership positions with General Electric’s Capital Fleet Services and Capital Vendor Finance divisions.
IEDA issues guide for best prices on used equipment in Tier 4 era
With prices on pre-Tier 4 machinery rising as much as 20 percent, contractors can face a difficult time in determining how much to pay for used equipment. So the Independent Equipment Dealers Association (IEDA) is providing some free advice.
The association is offering a free white paper called Advice from the Experts: Getting the Best Pricing on Used Equipment in the Era of Tier 4.
The paper looks at how emission control mandates have driven up prices on non-Tier 4 machinery and made it harder to find Tier 3 and earlier excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders, dump trucks, dozers and compact equipment.
