Reading Truck Body’s Aluminum Classic II service body, Sno-Way International’s Mega Blade Revolution snow plow and the Ford F-Series Super Duty all took home honors at NTEA/The Work Truck Show in Chicago a few weeks ago.
Reading Truck Body’s newest service body won The Work Truck Show 2009 Editors’ Choice Award for New Product Innovation, as well as the first Work Truck Show Green Award. Media attendees selected it as the winner out of approximately 100 products. The body weighs 45 percent – or 500 pounds – less than comparable steel service bodies, providing a fuel savings of up to 12 percent depending on vehicle application. The fully-recyclable body also offers improved payload capacity and reduced wear and tear on chassis components.
Sno-Way’s Revolution plow earned The Work Truck Show 2009 New Product Innovation Award, as voted on by attendees. The straight plow has hydraulic wings integrated on each end, which can move within a 150-degree range of motion. Accessory wings can be added to increase plowing capacity, making the plow’s angle as narrow as 7 feet 10 inches or as wide as 11 feet 4 inches. It can also angle left or right with the touch of a button.
Ford’s F-Series Super Duty earned the title of Work Truck of the Year, as selected by fleet owners through an online ballot. The 2009 F-Series Super Duty line comes in regular cab, super cab and Crew Cab models. Powertrain choices include a 5.4-liter, 3V Triton V-8, 6.8-liter, 3V Triton V-10 and a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbodiesel, with horsepower ranging from 300 to 362.
