Kubota North America recently celebrated the expansion of its manufacturing operations in Salina, Kansas, as the first of the factory’s SVL75-3 compact track loaders rolled off the assembly line.
The plant, part of Kubota’s Great Plans Manufacturing subsidiary, will integrate the assembly of the SVL75-3 into the existing SVL65-2 CTL line using a mixed-model manufacturing approach. Adding more CTL assembly to its Midwest operations, according to Kubota, allows the company to operate closer to its customers and dealers, strengthen its North America supply chain and expand the share of its products assembled in the U.S. from globally sourced parts.
Kubota ranked second in new financed construction equipment sales in the U.S. in 2025, with more than 30,000 units sold, according to Fusable’s EDA equipment finance data.
Kubota’s Great Plains Manufacturing business purchased the 750,000-square-foot Salina factory building in 2020 to meet growing demand and launched its operations with an SVL65 assembly line.
The addition of the SVL75-3 production line coincides with a separate expansion at the Salina plant to add a $30 million test center. Kubota broke ground on that 57,000-square-foot expansion April 10, calling it a “long-term commitment to designing, engineering and validating compact construction equipment in North America for customers across the region.”

Kubota says the new Salina test center will support the expansion of its construction equipment lineup by accelerating development cycles and improving local field-validated performance. Kubota's construction equipment includes compact excavators, stand-on compact loaders, compact track loaders, skid steers, wheel loaders and tractor loader backhoes.
