Edric C. Funk has been elected the next president and CEO of the Toro Company.

Funk, who joined Toro in 1996 as a design engineer, will start his new position November 1. He is currently the company’s president and chief operating officer, a position he has held since September, overseeing all Toro’s global businesses and integrated supply-chain operations.

He will succeed Richard M. Olson, who will become executive chairman of Toro’s board of directors. Olson has been CEO since 2016 and joined Toro more than 40 years ago as a process engineer.

“Throughout his tenure, he has consistently executed key priorities to deliver shareholder value, inspire teams and foster trusting relationships,” Olson says of Funk. “I have great confidence in the future of the Toro Company under Edric’s leadership to further build on our legacy of innovation and success.”

Funk has served in a variety of leadership roles at Toro, including engineering, marketing, global product management and technology innovation. He led the company’s Center for Technology, Research and Innovation in 2017, became general manager of the Sitework Systems business in 2020 and later served as group vice president of golf, grounds and irrigation.

His predecessor, Olson, has led the company to double its revenue, expand into infrastructure markets through acquisitions such as Charles Machine Works and invest in electrification, smart connectivity and robotics.

Toro reported net sales of $4.5 billion for fiscal 2025. Along with Toro, the company’s brands consist of Ditch Witch, Exmark, BOSS, Ventrac, Tornado, HammerHead, American Augers, Spartan, Subsite, Radius, Hayter, Perrot, Unique Lighting Systems, Irritrol and Lawn-Boy and have a presence in more than 125 countries.

“Over the past 30 years, I've had the opportunity to work alongside our exceptional global teams and gain a deep appreciation for the relationships, innovation and customer focus that serve as hallmarks of the company,” Funk says. “I look forward to building on those strengths as we advance our market leadership and deliver long-term value for our stakeholders.”
