Aemp ConferenceThose interested in the future of equipment management should plan to attend the EquipmentShift 2019 Conference sponsored by the Association of Equipment Management Professionals.

The October 23-24 event in Kansas City, Missouri, will focus on such topics as how the Internet of Things will change equipment management, how to use emerging technologies, innovation through experimentation and new approaches to consistent changes.

Kevin McCarthy, author of the best-selling book, “Blind Spots – Why Good People Make Bad Choices,” will present the keynote address. “Blind spots are hidden biases, assumptions and thinking errors that cloud perception, drive destructive behavior and impair decision-making,” says the description for McCarthy’s presentation. He will help attendees identify blind spots, improve relations with coworkers and reduce conflict, as well as make better decisions.

Conference attendees will also hear from executives with Luck Stone, a family-owned producer of stone, sand and gravel for road, bridge and building foundations. The company will discuss how data has changed the way it manages its assets, makes business decisions and develops its teams.

James Hamilton, senior product managers at EquipmentWatch, will discuss how APIs can help equipment managers drive innovation throughout their operations.

The conference will also be the site October 22-25 for AEMP’s Ignite Learning Lab to help prepare for CESP/CEM Certification Exams, as well as other educational sessions for equipment managers.
