Fiat recognizes ArvinMeritor with two awards
Fiat recognized ArvinMeritor’s wheel business with its Best Suppliers Award for the twelfth consecutive year and its long-term excellence award for the fifth year in a row. ArvinMeritor’s wheels division has headquarters in Limeira, Brazil, and San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Mann+Hummel merge U.S. divisions
Mann+Hummel recently announced two of its U.S.-based companies will form a single company, Mann+Hummel USA, Inc., and will be based in Portage, Mich. The companies to be merged are Mann+Hummel Filter Technology of Greensboro, N.C., and Mann+Hummel Automotive of Portage, Mich. The company decided to merge in an effort to unite its U.S.-based automotive and industrial filtration operations.

Daewoo Heavy to supply equipment in Iraq
Daewoo Heavy Industries and Machinery announced it has been awarded a contract to provide heavy equipment for a South Korean engineering unit that will be dispatched to southern Iraq. The company will supply the unit with $1.2 million of construction equipment including six excavators, two wheel loaders and a forklift truck.

Liebherr to spend $4 million in plant expansion
Liebherr unveiled plans on April 26 to spend $4 million on a plant expansion project in Newport News, Va. Approximately 134 jobs will be regained at the plant, where Liebherr has been manufacturing trucks since 1999.

Gehl Names President and COO
Gehl has named Malcolm F. Moore president and chief operating officer. Moore will be responsible for the operations of Gehl and its manufacturing sites in West Bend, Wis., Madison, S.D., and Yankton, S.D.

Genesis makes managerial appointments, names head of subsidiary
Genesis Equipment and Manufacturing has named Shane Kuhlmey national sales manager; David Palvere product line manager; and Patricia M. Stoll advertising manager. As part of their new positions, Kuhlmey will oversee domestic sales for the company’s demolition, recycling and utility-based hydraulic attachments, and Stoll will be responsible for developing advertising strategies. In addition to the three managerial appointments, Genesis also named Rob Schlichting general manager of Blades by Genesis, the company’s new subsidiary.

Freightliner appoints general manager
Freightliner recently announced the appointment of Jerome Guillen as general manager of new product development. In his new position, Guillen will be responsible for directing the management of key new product development programs for the company’s business units.
