’29 Ford Model A the final car to cross old Tappan Zee Bridge

Nyack resident Seth Kestenbaum was the last person to drive across the old Tappan Zee Bridge in his 1929 Model A Ford Phaeton on October 6. He crossed from Rockland to Westchester just before 10 p.m., right before traffic was diverted to the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge so that the landings to the Tappan Zee Bridge could be demolished to connect the second span of the new bridge to land.

The second span is scheduled to open in 2018.
