Want to put a snowblower on your wheel loader, a mower or other high-flow attachments?
HKX has a new hydraulic kit for doing just that.
Known for its aftermarket excavator products — HKX stands for Hydraulic Kits for Excavators — the Washington-based company has expanded its line with the new Wheel Loader 3rd Spool Auxiliary Field Installable Kits.
The company says its kits can be ordered and installed in a fraction of the time it takes to order a wheel loader with the specific factory-installed auxiliary hydraulics for running such attachments as rollout buckets, grapples, bucket screeners, snow blowers, brooms, mowers and hammers.
The systems can come in handy for equipment dealers who can carry baseline loaders and add capacity as requested by the customer, according to HKX. The company says plant lead times for OEM factory installation can be anywhere from 12 to 20 weeks, leaving buyers waiting.
“Dealers have told us for years that lead time is the constraint, not the hardware,” says Robert Burnett, vice president and general manager of HKX. “A loader sitting on the lot is a versatile machine if you can equip it quickly. These kits let a dealer say yes to a customer this month instead of pointing at a plant schedule, and they let that dealer stock a simpler machine that stays sellable to everyone.”

The kits are available for Komatsu’s WA200-8, WA270-8, WA320-8 and WA380-8. A WA475-11 kit is coming next. Optional jumper hose sub-kits with quick disconnect terminals are available, and fourth and fifth spool options are in development, the company says.
