Mr. Manhole
Mr. Manhole says its skid steer-mounted manhole cutters can complete manhole repairs in under an hour, increasing productivity while improving safety for municipal and paving crews.
The attachment for skid steers and compact track loaders allows crews to complete 10 or more manhole repairs per day at a cost of $1,500 less per repair on average using 20% less material.
Four models of varying cutting widths and capability are available:
- B-52 Manhole Cutter: Offers a standard 52-inch cutting diameter, adjustable to 34 inches and 64 inches with add-ons. The standard Speedplate fits lid seat diameters from 17 to 25.5 inches.
- Gold Series Six Shooter Manhole Cutter: Features standard cutting diameters from 44 to 60 inches, scalable down to 28 inches and up to 72 inches.
- Platinum Series Six Shooter Manhole Cutter: Adjustable from 50 to 72 inches in diameter within seconds. The Easy Drive System shields the drive motor from potential shock damage.
- Severe Duty Six Shooter Manhole Cutter: Capable of standard cutting diameters of 44 to 60 inches, scalable down to 28 inches and up to 72 inches. The standard Speedplate accommodates lid seat diameters from 17 to 25.5 inches.
A 24-inch-high debris shield helps protect against flying materials, while the additional Mr. Mister misting system sprays water during the cutting process to mitigate silica.
The five-step process takes bout one hour, according to Mr. Manhole:
- Cut: Complete one clean circular cut through asphalt or concrete in 5 minutes or less with no jackhammer and no square edges.
- Remove: The Speedplate locks into the frame to lift everything out in one motion — right from the seat of the skid steer or CTL.
- Repair: Users can then rebuild the chimney and pour with up to 20% less material than traditional methods.
- Mill and Pave: Mill the surface surrounding the steel plate, then pave the area back evenly so that it is level with the surrounding roadway.
- Restore: Reset the frame flush to grade.
