New York City police say an argument over pay was likely the cause of a jobsite stabbing in Brooklyn Monday afternoon.

According to a report from CBS New York, Andray Kumymar, 20, allegedly stabbed Yakov Pfeiffer, 30, following an argument the two men had. Workers said Kumymar was an electrician that had worked at the site a few days prior while Pfeiffer was one of the supervisors.

Pfeiffer was reportedly stabbed in the neck at the wheel of his pickup truck. He collapsed onto the ground and witnesses began calling out for someone to grab Kumymar as he tried to flee the scene.

Another witness ran him down and removed the knife from a pocket.

Pfeiffer was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The stabbing is at least the fifth violent altercation on a U.S. jobsite in the last two months. In August there were jobsite shootings in both Michigan and New York City as well as another in Georgia earlier this month. Also in August, a construction worker stabbed and killed his co-worker in South Carolina.
