AGC awards CSEA and Aon Build America Awards

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) announced their 2008 winners for Construction Safety and Excellence Awards (CSEA) and the Aon Build America Awards at the AGC’s 89th Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Barnhart Incorporated of San Diego, California was chosen above other CSEA first place winners and awarded the CSEA Grand Award for the year. The CSEA Grand Award is recognized as the “best of the best” in construction safety excellence.

“Safety on the construction site is of utmost importance to AGC and our members,” says Stephen Sandherr, CEO of AGC. “The awards recognize companies that have built a commitment to safety, occupational health management and risk control.”

The AGC also honored C.C. Myers for the second year in a row with the Aon Build America Grand Award for their excellence completing the I-580 / 880 Emergency Repair Project. Like the CSEA Grand Award, the Aon Build America Grand Award is also chosen from a number of winners, however this award judged by the contractor’s peers and not by a panel of experts.
