The ninth annual National Work Zone Awareness week will be held April 7-11, 2008. This year’s theme is “Slow for the Cone Zone,” and the national kickoff for the event will be in Sacramento, California, April 8 at 11 a.m.
The National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse and the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) through the Transportation Development Foundation has free and low cost resources for use during National Work Zone Awareness week. These resources include: safety ribbons, safety wristbands and various safety manuals available at no cost. Proceeds from all sales go to the ARTBA Foundation to support scholarships for children of roadway construction workers killed on the job.
