Takeuchi TB108 compact excavator offers new safety, performance features

Takeuchi recently replaced the company’s 1-ton TB007 compact excavator with its newer model, the TB108. The TB108 includes a variety of new safety and performance enhancing features, including a standard travel alarm, a TOPS/FOPS canopy, spring-applied, hydraulically released parking brakes, a retractable seat belt and a control tower lockout system of the excavator’s operating controls and travel levers. The equipment also has a hydraulically adjustable undercarriage that allows the TB108 to pass through openings as narrow as 29 inches and to expand to 36 inches for better operating stability.

The TB108 has a quick change ISO-SAE control pattern, which enables operators to quickly change to their preferred operating control pattern. The excavator also features a lockable tilt-back engine cover for quick service access and a no-tools-required, adjustable-width dozer blade.

The TB108 is available with rubber tracks and a four-post canopy. Equipped with canopy and rubber tracks, the TB108 weighs 2,029 pounds and has a maximum dig depth of 5 feet, 6 inches and offers a bucket breakout force of 3,157 pounds.
