And while the original concept truck’s seats and tonneau cover featuring Carhartt’s iconic “duck brown” fabric didn’t make the cut, at this year’s SEMA show, Chevrolet has unveiled the official 2021 production model of the Silverado 2500HD Carhartt Special Edition.
We’ve got a full walkaround and look inside this special edition pickup in our video coverage just below, or you can read on for the rest of the details and more photos.
“When the concept vehicle was shown, consumer response exceeded even our highest expectations,” says Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “Listening to the enthusiastic feedback of show-goers and trucks enthusiasts led to the development of the production truck that customers have been clamoring for.”
This Carhartt Special Edition truck has a Silverado 2500 LTZ crew cab at its foundation, equipped with a Z71 off-road package including twin-tube Rancho shocks, skid plates and hill descent control.
What makes the truck unique however are its exterior and interior designs. It will only be offered in one exterior color which Chevy is calling Mosaic Black Metallic. A Carhartt gold pinstripe wraps all the way around the truck, running just above the grille and underneath the door handles.
The truck sits on 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, while a soft rollup tonneau cover embossed with the Carhartt logo covers the bed.
The truck also features black hood vent detailing and chrome grille surround and inserts. Body-color front and rear bumpers and tow hooks round out the rest of the truck’s exterior design elements.
Inside, you’ll find a Jet Black/Carhartt Brown, two-tone leather interior exclusive to this Carhartt Silverado. Of course, you’ll also find more Carhartt logos, this time on the floor mats and embroidered on the leather headrests.
The 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Carhartt Special Edition is on display all this week at Chevy’s SEMA booth and will go on sale at Chevy dealerships in the fall of 2020.
