Chinese automaker GWM, or Great Wall Motors, launched its first full-size luxury pickup which includes some familiar German components.
The Poer crew cab truck features a choice of a 161-hp diesel with 295 lb.-ft. torque or 188-hp gasoline engine bolted to a German-produced ZF 8AT transmission. The diesel variant offers up to 295 lb.-ft. torque while the gas version is rated at 266 lb.-ft.
Driving assistance features come courtesy of the latest Bosch Generation 9.3 ESP system. The truck is available with automatic emergency braking, traction control, hill-start assist control, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping aid, traffic sign recognition, blindspot monitoring, reversing camera, reversing radar, curbside visibility and tire pressure monitoring.
Four-wheel drive is available though it’s not clear on GWM’s website if it comes standard. Six exterior colors and two interior options are offered. The Poer is a step up from GWM's midsize Pao pickup.
While Poer will not be available in the U.S., it will be rolling out to Australia and other countries around the world.
