While pickups from GM, Ram, Nissan and Toyota were all recently nominated by cars.com for Best Pickup Truck of 2016, Ford did not make this year’s short list.
Nominees, all 2016 models, include: Chevy Colorado 2.8-liter Duramax turbo diesel, GMC Sierra 1500, Nissan Titan XD Cummins 5.0-liter turbo diesel, Ram 1500 Rebel, Ram 3500 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel and Toyota Tacoma.
Pickup trucks were judged on levels of quality, innovation, power, capability and value.
“Our awards are designed to help shoppers across a variety of segments and budgets choose the best vehicle for their needs,” says cars.com editor-in-chief Patrick Olsen.
“In addition to looking at the overall best new car and truck of the year, we determine which cars are best for families, luxury shoppers, fuel-economy-conscious drivers and those who just want to have fun behind the wheel.”
