SPIED: GM’s HD Pickups Show Their Interior and Face!
This year’s hot weather testing season has officially kicked off as Death Valley has just been invaded by a large group of GM’s 2014, Heavy Duty pickup trucks.
Thanks to the extreme heat of Death Valley, engineers removed the camouflage from the front ends of these prototypes, revealing the new face of these big rigs.
We’ve also managed to snag a few photos of the inside of the cab.
Several different body styles were among this test group, including the Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab, Silverado 2500HD Extended cab, GMC Sierra 3500HD Dually and Silverado 3500HD Dually.
Power for the Heavy Duty models will come from updated versions of the 6.0L, 6.2L gasoline engines, and the 6.6L Duramax diesel.
While an 8-speed transmission is in the works for the Silverado 1500, the HD models will likely stick with a 6-speed.
Watch for GM’s HD pickups to start production in October/November of 2013 at the Flint, MI and Ft. Wayne assembly plants.
