Mercedes-Benz Vans getting new engineering chief

Jörg Zürn has been named Head of Engineering at Mercedes-Benz Vans, effective Nov. 1 the company announced.

 Zürn succeeds Dr. Sascha Paasche who is retiring on January 1, 2014, after 25 years of service to Daimler.

Zürn’s career at Daimler covers nearly 30 years. Most recently he served as Chief Engineer for Truck Product Engineering Heavy Duty/Medium Duty Cab over Engine at Mercedes-Benz, mostly responsible for the new Actros, Antos, and Arocs heavy-duty trucks.

Zürn will be succeeded at Truck Product Engineering by Dr. Uwe Baake.

Paasche, over his 25 years with Daimler, is credited with updating the Vito/Viano, creating the new Sprinter and developing the Citan.
