Volvo EC700 excavator available first quarter ’06

Designed and engineered to “re-define performance,” Volvo’s 70-ton EC700B hydraulic excavator features a 474-gross-horsepower D16C EAE3 diesel engine delivering a blend of power and fuel economy. The engine is Tier-3 compliant with Volvo’s Advanced Combustion Technology and matched with the machine’s hydraulic system to provide high digging and crowding forces with smooth, harmonized operations in all working conditions. Volvo says the EC700B is a next-generation machine with aggressive performance characteristics for production digging work. Production models of the EC700B are being field-tested now. Full-scale production will being in the fourth quarter of 2005 for delivery to all markets worldwide in the first quarter of 2006. Also new from Volvo: The ECR line of four short swing compact excavators.
