AlturnaMats, a manufacturer of ground protection mats, has announced the acquisition of Mobile Matts of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Mobile Matts will remain in Green Bay and continue to be headed by Phil Schounard. As of January 1, 2008, Mobile Matts will be available through AlturnaMats’ dealer network.
The acquisition creates the largest ground protection mat manufacturing group in the United States, according to Michael Gierlach, president of AlturnaMats. The line of mats now includes AlturnaMats, which features a bold diamond plate tread; VersaMats, which has a finer, slip-resistant tread and Mobile Matts, which are lighter in weight and have an M-shaped tread. Both firms also market one-piece plastic outrigger pads in a large variety of sizes.
