How a convoy of Ram pickups will serve as the backbone of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
Though the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will only require the brute strength of one Ram 3500–rated at 31,210 pounds of towing capacity–a host of the truck maker’s 1500 and 2500 pickups will be put to work Thursday along the 2.5-mile parade route. Ram recently landed an exclusive partnership with Macy’s making it the official truck […]

Toyota’s Tundrasine limo pickup can transport your whole crew to the jobsite in style (PHOTOS)
During the SEMA show we saw a lot of rather complicated concepts. Whether it was Toyota’s minivan-meets-Tacoma “UTV” concept, Honda’s next-gen Ridgeline racer tease or Nissan’s land speed record racing Titan, truck makers go to great lengths to impress attendees of the show. But one of the more impressive concept trucks at the show this […]

PHOTOS: The coolest trucks (and a few cars) from SEMA 2015 in one gallery
A couple of weeks ago we scoured the show floor at SEMA in Las Vegas and came back with a hefty bag of headlines. We saw lots of newsworthy pickups during our three days at the show and you can catch up on all those headlines in our SEMA 2015 hub by clicking here. But […]

Work trucks get a tech tune-up thanks to smarter transmissions, telematics
Technology isn’t just electrons and algorithms. It’s metallurgy and frame rails and a host of other details. Truck manufacturers use these tools to develop, produce and service what they sell. Some techniques for improving fuel efficiency in line-haul trucking don’t carry over well to vocational applications. Skirts and other aerodynamic features don’t help much on a […]

The Bandit is the 700-HP, Hemi-powered Jeep pickup of our dreams (PHOTOS)
Though the Captain America Wrangler inside the South Hall was certainly the coolest custom Jeep we saw at this year’s SEMA show, if we could have driven just one away, it would probably be the Bandit. Built by Dallas shop Starwood Motors, the Bandit is a conversion of a 2012 Wrangler into a full-fledged pickup. According to the […]

This 1956 Ford F-100 is pickup on the outside, Corvette on the inside (PHOTOS)
When we happened upon this beautiful vintage pickup at the SEMA show last week, it was the look of the thing that drew us in.  The ’56 Ford F-100 is a beautiful truck even without a nice coat of paint, but this one, magnificently restored with its striking Porsche “Platinsilber” coating and wood plank truck bed […]

PHOTOS > The best vintage pickups and truck rods from SEMA 2015
While the latest models and concept trucks are certainly our primary attraction to the SEMA show, the scores of beautifully-restored (and some less-so) trucks on the show floor are always an amazing bonus. In the gallery above, we’ve collected some of our favorite vintage trucks from this year’s show. There’s everything from hot rods, original […]

Kia chopped up a minivan and made a pickup for photo safaris (PHOTOS)
Kia does not make pickups, and though the Korean automaker’s SUVs have become quite popular here in the U.S., it’s not exactly known for producing trucks capable of traversing rugged terrain. And, honestly, this here creation Kia showed off last week at the SEMA show in Las Vegas isn’t exactly a pickup or an SUV. It’s […]
