Lafarge announced recently a new concrete solution to reduce the costs of rural roads up to 55 percent over a 20-year life cycle.
Lafarge Malaysia announced the new rural roads solution recently and pilot projects are expected to get underway soon, Malaysian state news agency Bernama reported.
“Rural concrete roads are more durable, especially in flood-prone areas, and are constructed using local raw materials and resources, contributing to the local economy,” Lafarge Malaysia CEO Bradley Mulroney said.
Lafarge will test the rural roads solution on new roads being built in the Klang Valley and Kedah in Malaysia in June. The testing projects will be done in collaboration with the Malaysian Ministry of Works and the Public Works Department.
The rural roads solution was developed at Lafarge’s Petaling Jaya Construction Development Laboratory.
