Marking the launch of the new articulated wheel loaders as a milestone for the company, at the Bauma trade show in Munich Manitou launched the Gehl 650/750 and Mustang 608/708.
The company’s previous loaders were all in the 0-60 horsepower range, but these new loaders range in power from the 65 hp provided by a Yanmar engine in the 600 models, to the 75 hp generated by the Duetz engine in the 700 models.
As such, the machines are the largest loaders made by Manitou and the company considers them their first truly worldwide loaders.
Mustang 708Thanks to their articulation joint and compact footprint, these loaders are extremely maneuverable and can be used in construction, industrial, commercial and agricultural applications. The machines’ articulated steering is capable of angles up to 45 degrees and allows for a consistent turning radius.
The Gehl 650 and Mustang 608 weigh in at 8,680 pounds and have a straight tipping load with bucket of 6,173 pounds. Bucket height to hinge pin is 130 inches and ground clearance is 14.6 in.
The 750 and 708 weigh in at 9,934 lbs. with a straight tipping load with bucket of 7,275 lbs. Bucket height to hinge pin is 136 in. and ground clearance is 12.3 in.
All four machines feature an automatic track tensioning system, straight tracking, joystick-mounted front and rear locking differentials and hydraulic two-speed transmission and 18.5 gpm auxiliary hydraulic flow standard. High-flow hydraulics are an available option as is a climate controlled enclosed cab.
Manitou says the loaders are compatible with most attachments through the Power-A-Tach mounting system.
