Backhoe genericA New York man was arrested over the weekend after attempting to end a dispute with a neighbor by attacking the man’s home with a backhoe.

According to a release from the New York State Police, troopers responded to a call in High Falls Sunday where 51-year-old William D. Dalton is accused of doing quite a bit of damage to his neighbor’s home.

After striking the home itself with the backhoe, Dalton then dug a hole that damaged the home’s septic system. He also “damaged a 10-foot cross structure.”

Dalton turned himself in two days later and was not granted bail. He is charged with two counts of third-degree, felony criminal mischief and will appear in court on June 29.
