Hyundai Construction offers a line of Compact Radius Excavators, which are intended to maximize performance in confined job spaces. This line, Hyundai’s 9-Series, includes the R27Z-9 and R35Z-9 zero tail swing models, the R60CR-9 and R80CR-9 compact radius models and the R145CR-9 and R235CR-9 excavators.
The R27Z-9 and R35Z-9 are small excavators with a tail-swing radius of 2.7 feet and 2.10 feet respectively. A 23.1 horsepower Mitsubishi S3L2 engine powers the 6,350-pound R27Z-9, which has a dig depth of 8 feet, two inches and bucket-digging force of 4,520 pound feet. A 26.5 horsepower Yanmar 3TNV88, water-cooled, four-cycle engine powers the 8,050-pound R35Z-9, which has a dig depth of 10 feet, four inches and bucket digging force of 7,050 pound feet. Both models feature a selection of either rubber or steel tracks.
The R60CR-9 and R80CR-9 compact radius models are intended for light construction, utility, demolition, landscaping and other applications with limited space. A Yanmar 4TNV98 diesel engine powers both models and gives the R60CR-9 model 55.2 horsepower and the R80CR-9 model 58.2 horsepower. The R60CR-9 offers a dig depth of up to 11 feet, 9 inches and a digging force of 9,190 pound feet. The R80CR-9 offers a dig depth of 13 feet, 7 inches and a digging force of 12,570 pound feet. Both models feature a selection of either rubber or steel tracks.
The R145CR-9 and the R235CR-9 excavators feature Hyundai’s Hi-mate proprietary remote management system and Hyundai’s 7-inch wide color LCD screen Cluster with toggle switch and a rear-view camera. A Mitsubishi D04FD-TAA water-cooled, four-cycle Diesel engine rated at 113 horsepower powers the R145CR-9, which provides a digging force of 19,620 pound feet, maximum dig depth of 16 feet, 1 inch and tail swing radius of 4.10 feet. A Cummins QSB6.7 engine powers the 52,470-pound R235CR-9, which offers 143 horsepower, a bucket digging force of 29,980 pound feet, a maximum dig depth of 18 feet, 12 inches and a minimal tail swing radius of 5.6 feet. Optional dozer blades are available for both models.
All 9-Series models come standard with bushings, polymer shims, extended-life hydraulic filters, long-life hydraulic oil and cooling and pre-heating systems. Other features include fully adjustable seats and armrests, large foot pedals, ergonomic joysticks, large-capacity air conditioners, MP3 player/AM/FM radio and water- and dust-proofing seals.
