Three cities compete for new US Cat plant

News reports coming out of Montgomery, Alabama; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Spartanburg, South Carolina, say the cities are in the three-way competition for a new Caterpillar manufacturing plant. Up for grabs: a reported 500 jobs. The company is expected to announce the site in August.

Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines told the Winston-Salem Journal he’s been talking with Caterpillar since February.
