GM cancels 4.5 liter light-duty diesel

Rats. The much anticipated 4.5 liter, V8 Duramax diesel engine from General Motors has been put on indefinite hold. The powerplant was proposed as a good fit for the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM is not alone; Ford, Toyota and Dodge have also recently dropped plans to introduce a small diesel engine.
