United Rentals terminates merger agreement

United Rentals has announced the company will terminate its merger agreement with RAM Acquisition Corp., the acquisition vehicle of Cerberus Capital Management.

Terms of the termination meet with the specifications in the July 22, 2007, merger agreement. Pursuant to the agreement, Cerberus must pay United Rentals a $100 million termination fee.
