Bobcat cuts back its workforce

Bobcat plans to cut about 130 jobs from its light construction machinery plant in Gwinner, North Dakota, and 25 jobs at its Bismark, North Dakota, facility. Workers were notified of the change on January 4.

Ingersoll Rand, Bobcat’s parent company, says the company is “requesting applications for participants in a voluntary reduction program” from its hourly paid workers, regardless of seniority.
Bobcat’s revenues declined in 2006 by more than 20 percent compared to the previous year.
