Despite its compact frame the new CBL40 backhoe from Yanmar will dig to a depth of 10 feet and reach up 13 feet 2 inches. The unit taps a three-cylinder, 37.2-horsepower engine to give the loader’s self-leveling bucket 2,960 pounds of lifting capacity and 4,375 pounds of breakout force. The backhoe digs with 5,800 pounds at the bucket and 3,600 pounds at the arm. Quick couplers come standard on both ends, and a two-pump hydraulic system delivers smooth operation.
