Mitsui acquires Komatsu dealer

Mitsui & Co. announced April 6 it has acquired majority ownership of Road Machinery, a Komatsu distributor with headquarters in Phoenix and eight branches in four Southwest states and north Mexico. Komatsu America, the former owner, will retain a minority interest in the company. Mitsui has also invested in Komatsu distributorships in Sourth America and Australia. “We are excited about the opportunity to broaden our relationship with Komatsu to include the United States,” said Masao Tsukuda, who is joining Road Machinery as chairman. He was recently president of Mitsui Maquinarias Peru, the Komatsu dealer in Peru. Based in Tokyo, Mitsui is a trading, investment and service enterprise.
