John Deere to exclusively market large crawler dozers made by Liebherr

Liebherr-Werk Telfs GMBH and John Deere’s Construction & Forestry Division have agreed to end their dual-branding strategy for large crawler dozers sold in North America and give John Deere an exclusivity agreement for those products. Under a December 2000 agreement, Liebherr has been providing large crawler dozers and crawler loaders for both the Liebherr and John Deere brands. The new deal grants John Deere exclusivity for the two large crawler dozers – the 234-horsepower 950C and the 330-horsepower 1050C. Liebherr will discontinue marketing the comparable PR 742 and PR 752 in North America except for mining applications. The companies’ North American dealer channels will continue to market the two crawler loader models in the original agreement – the Liebherr LR 622 and LR 632 and John Deere 655C and 755C. Liebherr-Werks Telfs will continue manufacturing both product lines.
