Compact size with big loader results

Gehl’s new 40 series mid-size skid-steer loaders provide high horsepower and hydraulic power, increased load capacities and spacious cabs. Operating weights on the four 40 series models (4640, 4840, 5640, 6640) range from 6,200 to7,800 pounds and SAE operating loads range from 1,500 to 2,400 pounds. New 2011 Series Deutz diesel engines offer horsepower ranging from 46 to 82. The 6640 has a standard turbocharged engine; this feature is optional on models 4640
and 5640. The larger cab offers more head, shoulder and leg room. An optional deluxe suspension seat adjusts to fight fatigue, and a choice of servo-controlled, low-effort controls deliver precise response. Factory-installed AC and heat is also available. Gehl offers a two-speed drive option with top speeds of nearly 13 mph. An extended wheelbase, more
than 48 inches on the 6640, and lower center of gravity, combined with the optional Hydraglide ride control system, help deliver a smoother, more stable drive.
