ABC conference joins congressional leaders with contractors

Contractors will have an opportunity to converse with some of the nation’s most influential lawmakers at the 2003 Associated Builders and Contractors conference in Washington D.C. on June 3 and 4.

The highlight of the conference will be a Capitol Hill reception at the Cannon Caucus Room on June 3, where lawmakers and agency officials will meet with ABC members and conference attendees to listen to concerns and answer questions. Past speakers at the reception have included former Senate majority leader Trent Lott and house majority leader Dick Armey. This year’s speakers will be announced within the next month.

The conference includes seminars on legislative issues dealing with the construction industry, presentations by congressional leaders and individual visits to Capitol Hill offices of senators and members of the House of Representatives.

Those interested should register before April 25 in order to receive the “early bird” registration rate of $275. After that date, the fee increases to $375.

The majority of the ABC conference will be held at the Capitol Hilton, a few blocks from the White House. ABC has reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton for a discounted rate, but respondents must reserve the room by April 28.
