ARTBA accepting applications for Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship

A national road builders’ group is accepting nominations for a scholarship program that helps the children of highway construction workers killed or permanently disabled in roadway work zones pursue post-secondary education.

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Highway Worker Memorial scholarships have a value up to $2,500 and are supported by contributions from highway construction industry executives, firms and labor groups.

Applicants must be the sons, daughters or legally adopted children of highway workers who have died or become permanently disabled in roadway construction zone accidents. A transportation construction firm or a transportation public agency must have employed applicants’ parents at the time of their deaths or disabling injuries.
