Deere’s new dozer longer and lighter underfoot

With an extra 5 inches of track on the ground the new John Deere 650H XLT bulldozer puts down just 5.6 psi of ground pressure, improving its control on slopes and traction on difficult terrain. Like its predecessor, the LT model, the 650H XLT offers the same 61-inch track gauge and 18- or 20-inch shoe options. Blade choices include 105- or 115-inch versions with three-position links that simplify pitch adjustments. The six-way, all-hydraulic blades are controlled by a single lever. A joystick controls the hydrostatic transmission and includes a thumb switch that allows the operator to change travel speeds incrementally. A 90-horsepower Deere 4045T engine with an altitude-compensating turbocharger drives the dozer.
