Caterpillar recently gave our sister site Aggregates Manager a sneak peek at its Tier 4 Final articulated trucks.
The trucks, the 30-ton 730 C and the 25-ton 725 C, will launch in January and February, respectively.
According to Aggregates Manager, The 730 C (which also has an ejector model) is powered by a Cat C-13 engine with 16 percent more power, up to 41 percent more torque and a power-to-weight improvement of up to 14 percent. Caterpillar says the end result is a 16-percent increase in productivity and up to a 6-percent improvement to fuel efficiency.
Meanwhile, the 725 C is powered by the C-9 engine that provides up to 5 percent more power, up to 21 percent more torque and an increase in power-to-weight of up to 4.1 percent.
The trucks’ transmission has been updated to allow for smoother shifting and Caterpillar also updated the trucks’ cab, dump body, structure and exterior design. Be sure to read Aggregates Manager‘s full in-depth report on the updated trucks by clicking here.
