Nissan Americas donates $115,000 to American Red Cross for relief efforts in the South

In response to the catastrophic storms and tornadoes that recently hit six Southern states, Nissan Americas is making an immediate $115,000 cash donation to the American Red Cross.

The funds will be used to assist the American Red Cross to provide food, clothing and shelter to victims of the disaster.

“The Nissan Americas team wants to do our part immediately to help those affected by the devastating storms that swept through the South last week,” said Carlos Tavares, chairman, Nissan Americas. “We know that the Red Cross is an agency that can act quickly to assess and react to disasters. Their response capabilities will help many people in the upcoming weeks and months.”

The American Red Cross is incredibly grateful for Nissan’s support,” said Joel Sullivan, CEO, Nashville Area Chapter, American Red Cross. “Whether it’s Rutherford County, Davidson County, Mississippi or in other parts of the world, Nissan is always one of the first corporations reaching out to offer their support.

Nissan has a long history of responding to humanitarian needs and disaster relief through organizations that include the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and Second Harvest Food Bank.
