Develon’s DX35Z-7 mini excavator is designed to tackle digging and lifting tasks in tight spaces.
In the video above, Moo Young Park, Develon senior engineering manager, gives us a tour of the zero-tail-swing digger at the 2025 ARA Show.
Park says the 8,000-pound machine is one of Develon's best-selling mini excavator models. Two arm lengths are available: standard 1.3 meters or optional 1.45 meters.
The 24-horsepower Develon engine does not require emissions reduction systems.
Canopy or fully enclosed cabin configurations are available. Enclosed cabs feature a full glass door and metal frame on the cab exterior for operator visibility, a heated seat, HVAC, an LCD monitor, lockable storage and an optional rearview camera.
The standard hydraulic quick-coupler-ready design and updated auxiliary hydraulics maximize attachment capabilities.
Develon puts their machines through rigorous testing in extreme weather conditions and applications to ensure durability.
“Our machines, even if it's a mini excavator, we consider it a production machine, just like our heavy excavators,” says Park. “It is more tailored to a heavy, working production environment and goes through the same testing standards and development as a heavy excavator."
All models are backed by a 3-year, 5,000-hour warranty, along with a standard telematics system that includes geofencing.

If you prefer long reach usually use with a pin on bucket or the shoulder arm with a hydraulic coupler, and that will be the combination we do all for thumbs and buckets as factory option. So whatever you need on the excavators, we can offer it as well.

We offer the two way piping as a standard feature on the machine. So if you need a thumb, it is a factory option that's included with our machines. So basically it's a 24 horsepower machine. So the benefits of having that horsepower rating, it doesn't need emissions. So it's a simple no emission less maintenance. And it's very cost effective.

If you need a bigger machine. We do offer 8842 with that turbocharged and with additional emissions in the class 10,000 pound machine as well. And it is developed engine in this machine. So it is, vertically integrated that we do make engines as well as the machines. So the integration between the machine and the engine, the power matching is very sophisticated.

So the productivity is high. So this is equipped with a cabin. We do offer a canopy machine as well. All our cabin mini excavators come with a standard heater and air conditioning even in our 27. So some manufactured don't offer a air conditioning as a feature for that class. But we do offer it so an operator at the end of the day can be more refreshed when we compare the cycle time with the competition, it is tailored so that the production of the machine, even if it's the same engine power.

How we've tuned the machine is very fast and also smooth, so if you do a production test versus the competition, it will outrun most of the competition in the market. So it also features a telematics system as a standard feature. And if you go with a cabin machine, it also has the standard rearview camera as well and the durability of the machine.
