KCM loaders will soon take on the branding of its parent company.
According to a company press release, nearly two years after Hitachi Construction Machinery completed its purchase of the company, KCMA Corporation will change its corporate name to Hitachi Construction Machinery Loaders America.
The change, which includes a new corporate structure, takes effect today, January 1.
Hitachi says it plans to increase loader production and streamline its loader offering in North America. The company manufactures loaders in Banshu and Ryugasaki, Japan; and in Newnan, Georgia.
KCM, formerly Kawasaki Construction Machinery, entered the North American construction equipment market in 1962. The Japanese company released its first wheel loader to the market in 1978 and in 2010 entered into a joint venture with Hitachi to aid in the development of Tier 4 Final loaders.
In 2016 Hitachi purchased KCM loaders from Kawasaki.
“This solidifies the commitment of Hitachi Construction Machinery Group to the North American market,” Masaaki Hirose, President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Loaders America says in a statement.
Hitachi says a new website and updated communication materials for Hitachi loaders will be launched in the coming months.
