Oshkosh Truck doubles sales in second quarter

Oshkosh Truck experienced doubled sales in the second quarter, with increases of 96.6 percent compared to last year’s second quarter sales. The increase may be attributed to Oshkosh’s recent purchase of JLG Industries, which contributed $707.9 million to this year’s second quarter sales.

Oshkosh’s operating income rose 69.1 percent to $134.8 million, or 8.1 percent of sales. In addition, the company’s access equipment segment garnered $53.2 million of operating income.

Earnings per share increased slightly as well to 68 cents compared with last year’s earnings per share, which was 67 cents.
