Volvo Construction Equipment recently announced that it would begin building excavators as well as cabs for wheel loaders and excavators at its manufacturing facility in Asheville, North Carolina.
A $25 million investment to increase Volvo CE’s assembly and fabrication capabilities to meet North American demands is also in the works. In a few years, another investment of $30 million will be made for these efforts.
The plant will build four of the eleven Volvo CE excavator models: the Volvo EC160B, EC210B, EC330B and EC360B. The five models of the Volvo wheel loader will continue to be manufactured at the Asheville plant.
