Ken Cook receives marketing excellence award

Ken Cook has received a Bell Excellence Award from the Milwaukee Chapter of the Business Marketing Association recognizing the company for its successful marketing campaign at the 2006 International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition show in Miami.

To attract possible exhibit attendees, the company developed a treasure hunt theme where visitors received a pirate’s map indicating the location of a “Jolly Roger” treasure chest. Participants where given materials to help them find the chest, including a compass and a key to unlock it. As a result, traffic increase by 25 percent compared with last year’s event as visitors stopped to see if their keys would open the chest.
