Equipment World, Rock & Dirt form web alliance

August 7, 2002 — TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – Randall Publishing Co.’s Equipment World, the leading monthly business journal for construction equipment users, and Rock & Dirt, the leading buy/sell publication for heavy equipment, are teaming up to provide new content for the magazines’ respective web sites.

The goal of the web alliance is to increase the value and usefulness of both sites for the publications’ online readers.

“We strive to constantly improve the quality and value of our products and services,” Mike Reilly, president and CEO of Randall Publishing, said. “This alliance will allow our users quicker and more direct access to free information and special features from Equipment World and Rock & Dirt.”

Equipment World’s new home page will have links to Rock & Dirt’s equipment searches and auction calendar, and to weatherTAP.com, an affiliate of Rock & Dirt. Users will be able to link to Rock & Dirt’s equipment searches directly from Top Bid’s auction results and Equipment World’s archived articles. Selected images from weatherTAP.com will also be available on Equipment World’s site.

Rock & Dirt’s new home page will feature daily construction news from Equipment World, as well as links to the Equipment World web site and selected auction results from Equipment World’s affiliate Top Bid. From Rock & Dirt’s equipment search result, users will be able to access Top Bid’s auction results calculator, Equipment World’s article archive, and selected UCC-1 data from Equipment Data Associates, another Equipment World affiliate.

Equipment World is published monthly by Randall Publishing Company. Launched in 2000 with free access, www.equipmentworld.com is a news and e-commerce site for contractors, manufacturers and dealers. Randall also publishes Top Bid auction results and offers market data through its EDA division.
