Caterpillar has agreed to acquire the rail and non-Cat engine component remanufacturing business of OEM Remanufacturing, a subsidiary of Cat dealer Finning International.
OEM Reman has also entered into a two-year agreement to provide remanufacturing services to Caterpillar while Caterpillar handles sales and marketing functions. The agreement will not affect the remanufacturing work OEM Reman performs on Cat-branded equipment for Finning.
“This transaction demonstrates the confidence that Caterpillar has in Finning as a business partner, and in OEM Reman’s ability to perform to Caterpillar’s stringent quality requirements and aggressive production targets in a safe, cost effective manner,” said Doug Whitehead, president and chief executive of Finning.
