MAN, DaimlerChrysler to restart MTU talks

Reuters reported Sept. 16 that a spokesman for German truck maker MAN said the company will restart discussions with DaimlerChrysler about buying the MTU Friedrichshafen heavy diesel motor unit from the automaker. MAN broke off talks earlier this year after Daimler and MTU family shareholders disagreed over how to sell the business. Daimler has since bought out the family shareholders in MTU.
