United Rentals has named Martin Welch interim chief financial officer. Welch has spent more than three decades in financial management for public and private companies. United Rentals said Welch will serve in this interim capacity while it fills the position left vacant by the termination of its president and chief financial officer, John Milne, in August. Welch most recently served as director and business advisor to private equity firm York Management Services. He was Kmart’s chief financial officer from 1995 until 2001.
