Volvo CE sells Nashville, Memphis LB Smith territories

Volvo Construction Equipment has sold the Nashville and Memphis, Tenn., market areas of its former dealer, L.B. Smith, to its Louisiana dealer, Scott Construction Equipment. The company will serve the new market areas from current LB Smith branch facilities in Nashville and Memphis. In conjunction with the sale, Volvo CE has also named Scott Equipment its dealer for most of Mississippi. Volvo CE purchased the assets associated with L.B. Smith, its dealer for most of the East Coast, in May 2003, and has continued operating the 31 locations under the name LB Smith. At the time of the acquisition, Volvo CE announced its intention to divest the business over time. In late April, Volvo CE sold its Florida distribution marketing area, with the exception of Tallahasse, to Flagler Construction Equipment.
