Construction calendar

September 5-7: The Historical Construction Equipment Association will hold its 18th annual national convention and old equipment exposition at its National Construction Equipment Museum near Bowling Green, Ohio. The convention will feature both operating and static exhibits of construction machinery from the early-to-mid 1900s. Approximately 200 machines powered by gas, diesel, steam and horse will be on display.

October 22-24: The Deep Foundations Institute will hold its 28th annual conference at the Eden Roc Resort & Spa in Miami Beach, Fla. The conference theme is “Deep Foundations in Compressible Soil and Soft Rock” and presentations will be made on helical piers, ground improvement, drilled shafts and driven piles. February 18-22: The National Utility Contractors Association’s Expo ’04 will take place at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Fla. Keynote speakers will be the Afterburners, a group of decorated fighter pilots who will address the topic “Business is Combat.” The event will mark the association’s 40th anniversary.
