Heavy civil construction and materials company Allan Myers has expanded their presence in the Northeast with the purchase of new assets in the region.
Allan Myers announced in a press release that the company had purchased major assets from Daisy Construction and Edgemoor Materials, including two new hot-mix asphalt plants in Elkton, Maryland, and Wilmington, Delaware.
Daisy Construction has done site development, infrastructure improvements, utilities, heavy highway construction and asphalt and concrete paving services in Delaware, Maryland and southeastern Pennsylvania since 1973. Edgemoor’s two asphalt plants provided the support for Daisy Construction projects.
Allan Myers will keep all of the existing construction contracts from Daisy and Edgemoor. The company will also hire back upwards of 200 Daisy and Edgemoor employees.
“This acquisition allows us to further strengthen our competitive position in the market,” Allan Myers CEO A. Ross Myers said. “This is great news for our employees and our customers. Both companies have similar core values, including a high standard for customer service and quality craftsmanship, enabling them to fit well into the Allan Myers culture and continue our drive for excellence.”
The new acquisitions leave Allan Myers with a total of five regional offices, five aggregate quarries and 14 asphalt plants throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
